KAPOOR N SONS

Kapoor and sons is an excellent movie that you can enjoy with your entire family during this lockdown. It perfectly captures the essence of a real family and all the ups and downs that comes with it. The entire movie creates a whirlwind of emotions within us with the madness that unfolds within the family. Ankush Bahuguna of MensXP.com gave the film 4/5 stars and called it “breath of fresh air” and “one of the best family films ever made in Bollywood.” Accompanied by the perfect cast we couldn’t say otherwise! It’s a must watch.

MOM

MOM is a thriller that stars Sridevi as a vigilante who sets out to avenge her step-daughter. If you’re looking for a movie that’ll keep you on your toes till the end, this is the right one for you! Mumbai mirror said, “Several scenes in Mom wordlessly convey more than what can be said through dialogue.”

SOORMA

Soorma is a biographical sports drama film based on the life of hockey player  Sandeep Singh. It is packed with exceptional performances by Diljit Dosanjh and Tapsee Pannu and is a good combination of romance and motivation where they showcase the struggles of Sandeep Singh on his way up and his unwavering determination. The times of India said, “It is a story told with its heart in the right place, and on that count it scores.”

UDTA PUNJAB

Udta Punjab is a black comedy crime film that revolves around the drug abuse by the youth population in the Indian state of Punjab and the various conspiracies surrounding it. This movie will keep you glued to the screen with its intense plot and an incredible performance by Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhat. Sukanya Verma of Rediff.com gave the film 4 stars out of 5, saying, “Udta Punjab is a wake-up call, an important film and a mighty impressive one at that, carrying a loud anti-drug message”

DANGAL

Dangal is a biographical sports drama film that is loosely based on the Phogat family. It stars Amir Khan who plays the role of a phelwani amateur wrestler who goes on to train his two daughters to wrestle against the society’s norms. The two daughters go on to become India’s first world class wrestlers. This movie received tons on positive reviews from the critics, one of which was Rachit Gupta of Filmfare magazine, who gave the film a full five star rating calling it “perfect in every sense of the word.” He added, “The film’s direction and writing is so riveting that it coaxes it’s viewer to stand up and applaud. Great editing and film-making technique aside, Dangal features wrestling matches that are authentic and real.” This one is definitely a must watch if you haven’t already!

CHOPSTICKS

Chopsticks is a comedy drama film. The film is a story of a woman who is referred to an enigmatic con man who agrees to help recover her stolen car from a thug for free, and how it brings about change in their lives. The plot of the movie is very intriguing and both the actors did a commendable job playing out their roles. The movie is very well crafted and definitely worth a watch!

PAAN SINGH TOMAR

Paan Singh Tomar is a biographical film about the eponymous athlete who was a soldier in the Indian Army and won a gold medal at the Indian National Games, but was forced to become a rebel against the system. The film won the Best Feature Film and Best Actor in the 60th National Film Awards 2012. This movie is gives Paan Singh real depth without overly romanticising him and Mr. Khan does did an exceptional job at playing the part. We just can’t take our eyes off him! Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express gave the film 4 out of 5 stars and said “Paan Singh Tomar is a completely gripping, near-flawless film, with such few dodgy parts as to be negligible.”

PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA 2

Pyaar ka punchnama 2 is a romantic comedy film that is a sequel to the 2011 film pyaar ka punchnama. This sequel is hilarious and is sure to make your stomach hurt. “From a quirky take on the government advertisement against the use of tobacco to silly and stereotypical portrayal of women, Pyar Ka Punchnama 2 offers everything you have said (or wanted to say) during that boys’ night with your friends.” It will make a perfect weekend watch with your friends and family as the actors take you into this whirlwind of drama and fun.

AZHAR

Azhar is a b biographical sports drama film. The story is inspired from the life of Indian cricketer and former national team captain Mohammad Azharuddin. Emraan Hashmi portrays Azhar’s role exceptionally well and The Emraan Hashmi charm mixed with shy Azharuddin mannerism makes it a heady cocktail. You wouldn’t want to put it down without giving it a try.

WAZIR

Wazir is a crime thriller film based on the original story by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Wazir follows the story of a suspended Anti-Terrorism Squad officer who befriends a chess player who is a wheelchair user. Its gripping soundtracks will keep you on your toes and make it an even more thrilling watching experience. “Wazir’s lead performances, its glassy cinematography, its haunting sound design, work well.”
